PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The primary objective of the project was to provide a protective interlock system to prevent inadvertent operation of Coker valves “out of sequence”. The scope included:
- Automation of approx. 144 valves; 120 with new MOV actuators and 24 modifications to existing MOV actuators
- Addition of new valves for “double block” configuration on condensate and blowdown lines
- Provide a new RIE to house Triconex SIS, Honeywell DCS equipment and redundant UPS equipment
- Provide new SIS and Process Control systems included 3 new Triconex TMR systems, 1 HPM and 2 HMIs running with Wonderware graphics
- Installation of new Priority 1 Alarm/Bypass Displays @ Coker Control Room Console
- Networking of new SIS and Process Control Systems involving new fiber optic backbone and network switches
- 480 Volt distribution for RIE and MOVs

- Detailed mechanical and civil/structural design including laser scanning and 3D modeling for new steel, piping and valves
- Detailed I/E design including new 480 VAC distribution, Fiber Optic Backbone, instrument cabling infrastructure and networking
- Supply all tagged equipment including RIE c/w DCS, SIS and UPS equipment
- Provided actuation of existing valves to include MOV actuators
- Supply all new Process Control/SIS/HMI equipment
- Programming, staging, and factory acceptance testing for all DCS, SIS and HMI systems
